The 2025 Nissan Frontier Is the Perfect Truck for Doing Truck Things

Nissan gave the Frontier the long-awaited update it deserved for the 2022 model year, which brought modern styling, an improved interior, and a range of new tech features. While many full-size trucks chase the latest and greatest tech features and innovation, Nissan’s improvements to the Frontier made it one of the better everyday pickup trucks on sale. Here’s why.
The 2025 Frontier is offered in five trim levels, two cab configurations, two bed lengths, and either rear- or four-wheel drive. Trims include S, SV, Pro-X, Pro-4X, and SL. King cab and crew cab body styles are available, and buyers can choose between a 59.5- or 73.3-inch bed, depending on the trim and cab.

That level of choice makes the Frontier one of the most customizable trucks on the market. Most of the competition offers one cab style, and while some come with different bed lengths, none have the array of options the Frontier has. It’s also important to note that being able to customize so many aspects of the truck means that you’re only paying for what you need and can dial in the exact configuration you want, rather than piece together a solution from a shorter options list.

While the new truck sports a long list of upgrades over its predecessor, Nissan fits a tried-and-true 3.8-liter V6 engine in the Frontier. It makes a healthy 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque, which reaches the rear or all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission.
An 8.0-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes standard, but higher trims step up to a 12.3-inch display and wireless connectivity. Nissan’s infotainment software is straightforward, and the screens’ crisp graphics make them easy to see from both front seats. A large digital gauge cluster is also available, offering a configurable view of the truck’s performance, audio information, and more.
Trucks don’t always get the best safety equipment, but that’s not the case with the 2025 Frontier. It comes standard with lane departure alerts, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, rear automatic braking, automatic high beams, forward collision warnings, a rear sonar system, lane departure warnings, and more.
