2026 Nissan Armada

Performance  

Under the hood of all 2026 Armadas is a twin-turbo, direct-injected 3.5-liter V-6. For most models, it produces 425 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and has a peak torque of 516 lb-ft at 3,600 rpm. The VR35DDTT, as it is known, includes technologies for improved efficiency, such as mirror-bore coatings in the cylinders for reduced friction. The engine’s Idle Stop-Start ensures you are not using fuel at stop lights or backed-up traffic. The 9-speed automatic transmission features paddle shifters, which can be used to downshift to your preference in passing situations. They are often at their most useful when you wish to control engine speed on a mountain incline or use engine braking when going downhill.  

The high-performance NISMO model features revised engine programming, careful fine-tuning of valve clearances, and a freer-flowing exhaust system. The result is 35 additional horsepower for a total of 460 (using premium fuel). Every Armada NISMO engine receives a final hands-on inspection by an expert NISMO craftsman before it leaves the factory. 

The 2026 Armada has a standard towing capacity of 8,500 pounds. A Class IV tow hitch and a 7-pin harness/pre-wiring are standard. An integrated trailer brake controller is found on the PRO-4X and Platinum Reserve grades. By inputting the trailer length, the Blind Spot Monitoring system extends the blind spot to cover the length of the trailer.  

SV, SL, Platinum, and Platinum Reserve models come standard with rear-wheel drive and are available with intelligent four-wheel drive. Both the NISMO and PRO-4X models come with standard four-wheel drive. The PRO-4X also has several features to enhance off-road performance. These include an electronic locking rear differential, Adaptive Electronic Air Suspension, all-terrain tires, a metal underbody skid plate, and a redesigned front fascia to improve its approach angle. The air suspension can raise the vehicle to 9.6 inches of ground clearance or lower it for easier entry and exit.  

Exterior  

The 2026 Armada has a distinctive appearance with blocky proportions highlighted by a unique kick-up line in the rear quarter windows and tasteful details. The all-LED exterior lighting gives a bold presence up front with a recognizable light signature day and night. The Armada can feature a two-tone paint scheme with a black or grey roof to contrast the body color. Another unique detail is an above-mounted rear wiper that is mostly hidden under the rear spoiler until it’s needed.  

The NISMO model has a revised front bumper to increase grille airflow and reduce front-end lift at high speeds. A rear diffuser also manages airflow for improved stability. In between, the NISMO rides on exclusive lightweight 22-inch NISMO RAYS® forged alloy wheels with low-profile high-performance tires for optimized grip. 

Interior  

Open the front door, and you immediately notice the dashboard’s upper panel housing both the 12.3-inch digital driver information display and the center touchscreen, which is 12.3 inches for SV and SL models and 14.3 inches for the rest of the lineup. Besides the high-definition screens, there are plenty of tactile physical controls for quick access to the most-used functions. This includes dash-mounted buttons to control the transmission, freeing up the wide center console for storage and other uses. A large, easy-to-reach rotary dial allows you to quickly select the Armada’s multiple drive modes.  

Found on upper models are elegant finishes such as open-pore wood trim, quilted leather-appointed seating, and available 64-color ambient lighting. The driver has a commanding viewpoint with the highest driver’s eye point in the class.  

As expected, the Armada is quite spacious, with 43.8 inches of front legroom, 39.2 inches of second-row legroom, and 32.9 inches for third-row passengers. Behind the third row, there is 20.4 cubic feet of cargo space. With the third-row seats folded down, the space expands to 56.3 cubic feet, and in full cargo mode, it can hold up to 97.1 cubic feet.  

The NISMO sets itself apart with red Ultrasuede® seating surfaces and NISMO branding on front and second row headrests. The bolsters are adjustable, so they can provide wide cruising comfort and then become more prominent to help secure occupants during quick cornering. 

Technology  

The center touchscreen is supported by the Google Built-in system on SL and higher trims. This allows you to use Google Maps without a cell phone connection. The advanced Google Assistant voice recognition system is also part of this setup, and additional apps are available from the Google Play Store. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto come standard on all Armadas. For passengers who want to keep their devices charged, there are six USB Type-C ports throughout the cabin. SL and higher trims also include a wireless phone charger in the center console. The Armada’s premium sound system is from the well-known home audio speaker manufacturer Klipsch, featuring 600 watts and 12 speakers, including the company’s DualPower subwoofer.  

Camera technologies include a 3D version of Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitor, an Invisible Hood View to see directly in front of the vehicle, and a Front-Wide View to see past parked cars, buildings, or other obstacles.  

Safety and Driver Assistance  

The Armada offers three different levels of driver assistance technology based on the trim level. ProPILOT Assist comes standard on the SV model, combining intelligent cruise control with lane centering. The other models feature ProPILOT Assist 1.1, which uses navigation data to adjust vehicle speed for curves and interchanges.  

Available on the SL, Platinum, NISMO, and Platinum Reserve is the all-new ProPILOT Assist 2.1, which allows attentive drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel during single-lane freeway driving. The system manages acceleration, steering, and braking. It is designed for pre-mapped highways.
