​​Nissan’s Invisible Hood View tech named ‘Best New Feature’ by Texas Auto Writers Association​

Innovation is what makes Nissan a brand worth owning. Nissan provides new ways for drivers to see what is ahead, or underneath. Introducing Invisible Hood View technology, a new driver assist feature that allows drivers to avoid obstacles that could be in the way but not in normal view. 

This technology is so innovative that it received the Texas Auto Writers Association’s Best New Feature award at their annual Texas Auto Roundup event. Nissan is proud to accept this award on behalf of those in our team who create innovative solutions that are intuitive to use with an eye on safety and driver engagement.  

Invisible Hood View provides drivers a virtual view through the engine bay through a strategically positioned camera underneath the vehicle’s body. This view is presented to the driver on the in-cabin infotainment touchscreen. It is useful when positioning a vehicle through a car wash. Sometimes you think that you have your Nissan positioned just right into these tracks, but you find that your wheel rims get scratched when you do not. The Invisible Hood View helps easily guide you onto those tracks and barriers.  

Parking can also be challenging for drivers. The Invisible Hood View shows you where to avoid the curb or where to avoid going beyond a concrete barrier. Navigating drive-thru restaurants and coffeehouses is a better experience with the view available to see what to avoid when getting to the order kiosk or the cashier’s window. It also helps in dealing with hazards left on the road.  

When going off-road, the Invisible Hood View can show you which rocks or ruts to avoid. Sometimes, you do not see that a rock is up ahead, which could cause an issue with the skid plate or any unprotected item underneath the body. This might be the best off-road tool for your Nissan.  

The Invisible Hood View is part of an expansive set of camera technologies developed to create a safer and more engaging experience behind the wheel of your Nissan. Other camera views are available on the infotainment touchscreen. One such view, Front Wide View, helps you see the corners of the front fenders through a wide-angle lens. This is effective when you are making sure you can park in a tight space by avoiding vehicles and obstacles next to you.  

Another innovative available screen is the 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor. You have a full view of what is around your vehicle. However, the driver can also swipe the touchscreen to rotate the monitor for a three-dimensional look. This is great in case something is lurking on the side or behind your Nissan.  

The Invisible Hood View is available on the 2025 Nissan Armada, Rogue, and Murano.
