Nissan Debuts Five Exciting Concepts at SEMA

Every November, the automotive industry meets in Las Vegas for the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show. This is where ideas are presented for maintaining, upgrading, and modifying automobiles. Ideas may come from a single part or an entire concept vehicle. 

Nissan brought five concepts to the 2024 SEMA Show, showcasing the possibilities of what one can do with a singular vehicle. At the show, Nissan exhibited two 2025 Kicks, two 2025 Frontier pickup trucks, and a 2025 Z, all of which carry build themes. It also illustrates how Nissan vehicles can be canvases for four-wheeled excitement. 

One of two 2025 Frontiers showcased at the SEMA Show was called the Project Tailgater, based on a 2025 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X. A collaborative build with PowerNation TV’s “Music City Trucks” series, the build begins with NISMO Off Road accessories including a lift kit and high-performance suspension, bed rack, cargo cases, off-road lighting, and 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels. From there, Project Trailgater adds almost everything you might need for camping and tailgating outdoors, including two 43-inch weatherproof TVs, powered coolers, a grille, and even the literal (not proverbial) kitchen sink. 

On the other side of the 2025 Frontier coin is the TARMAC Concept. Embodying the spirit of sport and muscle trucks of the past, this one-off street truck is a collaboration between Nissan Motorsports, Nissan Design America, and Forsberg Racing. The TARMAC Concept immediately turns heads with its new-for-2025 Afterburn Orange paint complemented by an indulgence of carbon fiber accents throughout, including the aggressive widebody kit, vented hood, roof cap, spoiler, wheels, aero, and more. Boasting just over 400 horsepower with a Roots-type supercharger tacked on, performance modifications to the 3.8-liter V6 ratchet up the street cred. 

From the mean streets to the beach, the Kicks Beach Patrol concept builds on the active spirit of the all-new 2025 Kicks. The concept builds upon that sure-footed capability with a custom suspension lift, 18-inch NISMO Off Road Ascend wheels wrapped in Yokohama GEOLANDAR off-road tires, and additional equipment for a day in the sun, like a shower kit and coolers.  

The beach is cool, but there’s another set to hang out with—the tuner crowd. The Kicks Urban Shadow concept takes inspiration from tuner culture with graphics, wheels, and suspension modifications that promote on-road excitement. The build shows the potential for Kicks drivers to modify their vehicles. It showcases prototype NISMO parts including 18-inch NISMO LM-RS6 wheels, custom coilover suspension enabling a lowered ride height, and a NISMO cat-back exhaust system. 

The Z Legend accessory package concept is what happens when you raid the parts catalog at Nissan and create a throwback to over 50 years ago when the Z was the best car of its kind. The Legend package adds vintage-look wheels, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, over-fenders, and other decals. Easter eggs include an emblem on the C-pillar that showcases seven gears, a nod to the seven generations of the Nissan Z.
