Cars.com Takes A Good Look At The 2025 Nissan Sentra

Recently, the 2025 Nissan Sentra was the highest ranked compact car in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Initial Quality Study. It stood out not only for its high quality, but for its value and customer satisfaction within the first 90 days of ownership. The Sentra story does not stop there. Cars.com recently tested a 2025 SR to see if this is a great sedan for you. The editors came up with some items they liked the most from their time with it.  

For starters, they settled in the Sentra’s spacious cabin. Cars.com remarked that it was “clean and functional” in its design. In the SR, they were treated to contrasting red-and-orange stitching throughout the cabin. They noted that it came with heated seats and a quick and responsive NissanConnect 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Physical climate control and audio functions were a “welcome” touch that the Cars.com team pointed out.  

Customers want a car that is fun to drive while serving commuting duties—perhaps even to and from the University of South Carolina campus. That is why Nissan improved the Sentra’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission. Cars.com stated that “the improvements are largely successful, with less noise and a more natural feel while accelerating.” Each 2025 Sentra is powered by a 149-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The Cars.com team stated that it has “enough power for highway merging and passing.”  

A driveline that features a powerful engine and improved CVT also yielded better fuel economy for the 2025 Sentra. Combined with a new stop-start system, this sedan can return up to 40 mpg on the highway. They found it to be “more frugal” for a vehicle in its class.  

Combined with its efficient and powerful driveline, the Sentra offers great road manners. Cars.com observed that their SR tester rode “reasonably well with decent damping, as well as a quiet and controlled highway ride.”
